Local MP, Greg Barker, will join County and District Councillor for Battle, Kathryn Field, at a public meeting next Friday to discuss the changes to local Parliamentary Constituency boundaries, which could see Battle moved into a new constituency which would stretch as far as Crowborough, Paddock Wood and Sissinghurst.

The meeting will take place on Friday 14 October at 7pm at Claverham Community College and is open to anyone who would like to learn more about the proposals which are being drawn up by the Boundary Commission and will come into effect at the next General Election.

Speaking in Battle, Greg said “The proposed boundary changes would have a big impact on Battle’s relationship with its Member of Parliament and I am very keen to have the opportunity to discuss them with as many local people as possible. I hope that we will have a good turn out next Friday not just from the town but from surrounding villages which are also affected.”
