Tesco Bexhill welcomed Greg and 3 pupils from St Mary Magdalene's, King Offa and Pebsham schools to the store to present the new equipment that the schools were able to order thanks to the Tesco's Schools and Clubs scheme.

Speaking in Bexhill, Greg said "This is a terrific initiative and local schools have been benefiting from Tesco schemes and projects for twenty years but this year we want to make it the best ever, with schools budgeting under pressure, receiving computers, sports equipment and little extras will be particularly appreciated by local children, so I would strongly suggest everyone to start collecting soon.”

This year's Tesco for schools and clubs scheme has been another success seeing local schools and clubs set to receive fantastic new equipment. The nationwide scheme enables UK schools and clubs to redeem vouchers from Tesco purchases for all sorts of amazing products from imacs to drum kits and garden tools to tennis rackets.

Over 40,000 schools and clubs in the UK have signed up to take part in the programme and last year alone, Tesco gave away over 430,000 pieces of equipment to schools and clubs, worth a staggering 9.3 million pounds.

This year, shoppers in the local area received vouchers over ten weeks which they donated to a school or club of their choice. These schools and clubs were then able to choose what equipment they wanted from the catalogue to benefit and educate children.

Hazel Lingham, community champion at Bexhill Tesco said "Tesco for schools and clubs is a scheme that our Tesco team are proud to be a part of. We are really pleased Gregory Barker came to present the products, as a result of thousands of vouchers collected by our customers"
