Local MP, Greg Barker, was delighted to present Carol Smith, Director of Ashdene Service Station with the My Shop is Your Shop Gold Award when he visited the Hurst Green garage last Friday.

Speaking at Hurst Green, Greg said “Since the closure of Hurst Green Post Office, Ashdene Services has played an even more important role in the life of the village providing the daily essentials for many people in the surrounding area.

Carol and her family, who are also strongly supportive of the new community shop, thoroughly deserve this award.”

My Shop is Your Shop is a campaign run by the Federation of Wholesale Distributors, to support and publicise the fantastic work of small, independent shops, and to celebrate their position within their communities.

Ashdene Service Station received this award because of its prominence within its local community. Owner Carol is very pro-active in marketing her business to customers, and providing a high level of customer service.
