Local MP, Greg Barker, enjoyed a tour of the new Sainsbury’s supermarket in Heathfield when he met the new manager, Marco Sarro, and his colleagues at the store last Friday.
Greg was pleased to learn that the store had welcomed more shoppers than expected during its first week of opening and that customers’ feedback had been very positive.
Speaking in Heathfield, Greg said “I am delighted that Sainsbury’s have chosen to open a supermarket in Heathfield. The location of this smart new store right in the middle of the town will attract more shoppers to the heart of Heathfield and will benefit other high street retailers. I am pleased that Sainsbury’s have recruited over xxx local people from ages 16 to 82, this is a real boost to the local economy.”
